Alles Europa News reports that Scientists associated the origin of the Scythians and Sarmatians with Altai peoples.
A thorough group of scientists from Russia, Ukraine and Estonia, led by Richard Willems, conducted a thorough study that showed that the Scythians and Sarmatians came from the ancient peoples of Altai, according to Current Biology.
Scientists during the study sequenced the genomes of Scythians, Sarmatians related to them, other peoples of the past, as well as modern inhabitants of the Eurasian steppe.
As a result, five genetically distinct groups were identified. In each of them there were traces of European hunter-gatherers, Natufians and the ancient inhabitants of Altai.
Alles Europa News reports that Experts have established that the more west the nomads lived, the less “Altai tracks” remained in their genes.
